National AAHGS membership provides access to:

  • Monthly virtual educational presentations, held on the third Sunday of each month

  • Quarterly AAHGS News e-newsletters

  • Peer-reviewed AAHGS Journal publications

  • Weekly communications highlighting programs, opportunities, resources, and activities

  • Member forums that provide opportunities to communicate and engage with other members

  • Information and invitations to special national events and programs

  • Discounted registration for the AAHGS National Conference

  • Voting privileges in the national organizationupport and resources for chapters as they develop programs and serve their communities

How to Join the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society (AAHGS):

1. Select Membership Type:

    • Life – Installments
    • Individual
    • Student
    • Organizations

2. Review and Agree to Privacy Statement.

3. Enter Profile Information:

  • Choose Username and Password.
  • Select if you want AAHGS News – Print Version – additional $24 fee.

4. Finish and Proceed to Payment:

  • Receive quarterly issues of AAHGS News via postal mail.
  • Select type of Membership (Fees):
    1. Life or Life Installments: $1,000 or set up an installment plan.
    2. Individual: $75/annually ($50 for national membership and $20 for local chapter membership).
    3. Student: $20/annually
    4. Organizations: $75/annually
    5. Enter Credit Card information
    6. Submit
